Fibromyalgia

Millions of people are affected by fibromyalgia, which can produce debilitating muscle pain, stiffness in the joints and soft tissues, fatigue, anxiety, sleep problems and more. Causes of fibromyalgia may include trauma, hormonal or chemical imbalances, reduced levels of serotonin, stress and viral infections. There is no cure for fibromyalgia. Treatment involves addressing the causes and treating pain and other symptoms. Patients can be tested for nutritional deficiencies (such as magnesium, vitamin B-12 and vitamin D) and hormone imbalance. Ask our compounding pharmacist about nutritional supplements, bioidentical hormone therapy, and customized pain medications for treatment of fibromyalgia, and how we can help with other problems that haven’t responded to usual therapies.
